Tungsten Crucible Types
Tungsten boats can be classified into different types based on manufacturing processes and applications:
1. Sintered Tungsten Boat
Manufacturing Process: Produced using powder metallurgy by pressing high-purity tungsten powder and sintering it at high temperatures.
Features:
Uniform structure, high density, and low impurity content.
Excellent high-temperature performance, suitable for extreme conditions.
Applications: Primarily used in powder metallurgy, vacuum furnace melting, and high-temperature experiments.
2. Folded Tungsten Boat
Manufacturing Process: Formed by folding a single tungsten sheet into the desired shape without welding or riveting.
Features:
Simple production process with lower manufacturing costs.
Good mechanical strength, suitable for small-sized tungsten boats.
Applications: Widely used in vacuum evaporation coating and laboratory research.
3. Stamped Tungsten Boat
Manufacturing Process: Formed in one step using mold stamping technology.
Features:
High production efficiency, strong batch consistency.
Complete structure without additional processing.
Applications: Ideal for large-scale industrial production, such as evaporation coating and thermal evaporation processes.
4. Welded Tungsten Boat
Manufacturing Process: Assembled by welding multiple tungsten plates or strips together.
Features:
Suitable for large-sized and complex-shaped tungsten boats.
Welded joints must maintain high-temperature stability to prevent cracks caused by thermal expansion.
5. Riveted Tungsten Boat
Manufacturing Process: Assembled by riveting multiple tungsten plates or sheets together.
Features:
Suitable for manufacturing large or thin-walled tungsten boats, overcoming the processing limitations of single tungsten pieces.
High mechanical strength, but riveted points may be weaker under extreme high temperatures.
Applications: Used in high-temperature melting, powder metallurgy, and specialized experimental equipment.
6. Evaporation Tungsten Boat
Also known as a coating tungsten boat, this is a key component in vacuum evaporation coating. It is widely used in electronics, optics, semiconductors, and experimental research. Its high-temperature stability, excellent thermal conductivity, and corrosion resistance make it essential for high-end coating processes.
