Vacuum Furnace Hot Zone
The hot zone is the key component of the high temperature furnace as it affects the operation of the entire system. Various key factors in high temperature processes including temperature distribution, process purity and energy consumption are directly related to the hot zone. At operating temperatures from 1000°C to 2800°C, the metal hot zone is the first choice for a variety of high temperature furnaces.
All parts in an all-metal hot zone are made of metal. The main metals are molybdenum, molybdenum lanthanum, TZM, tungsten and tantalum. The most commonly used metal is molybdenum, and its ambient temperature range is generally 1000-2500 °C. When the ambient temperature is higher than 2500℃, tungsten is required, and ordinary heat-resistant metals such as steel can be used when the ambient temperature is lower than 1000℃. Generally, the hot zone in the high temperature furnace, crystal growth furnace and sapphire growth furnace is an all-metal hot zone.
The shape of hot zones includes square vertical, square horizontal, round vertical and round horizontal. Hot zones consist of furnace body, heat shield and supporter, including a stainless steel body, a tungsten body in the stainless steel body, a heating element in the tungsten body, a crucible in the heating element, a crucible supporter at the bottom of the tungsten body, and a connection between the crucible supporter and the tungsten body. There is a lower molybdenum heat shield between them, and a zirconia fiber board is arranged on the molybdenum heat shield to make the temperature gradient of the hot zone consistent. The seed crystal chuck assembly includes a seed crystal rod, which is hung in the heating element assembly and extends into the crucible for pulling the crystal.
Hot zones vary in diameter, shape and design. We can ensure an optimal hot zone based on your high temperature furnace and operating temperature:
