Dysprosium Lamp and Tungsten Lamp
Dysprosium lamp and tungsten lamp have many differences in many things. From the aspect of light source type, tungsten lamp belongs to thermal radiation source, and dysprosium lamp called metal halide lamp is a low-pressure discharge lamp. Judging from the color paper, dysprosium lamp color temperature is daylight color temperature. And the color temperature of tungsten is the lighting. If the film is made indoor, people don’t need to add anything, but if it is outdoor, people need to add a blue paper. From the aspect of their outlook, dysprosium lamp bulb must looks like a potbelly, because it is filled with gas, it gives out light depends on the gas. Tungsten lamp bulb is a vacuum quartz glass, when the tungsten filament (metal) itself is energized, it would give out the light because of the resistance heating. Dysprosium lamp power value includes: 125w, 200w, 400w, 575w, 1200w, 2500w, 4000w, 6000w, 12000w, 18000w. Tungsten lamp power value include: 150w, 300w, 650w, 1000w, 2000w, 5000w, 10000w, 20000w, 24000w. Dysprosium lamp must have a transformer, but the tungsten lamp doesn’t have it.
Other Differences:
1. Dysprosium lamp has strobe function because of the transformer device inside.
2. Dysprosium lamp gives out the light by gas, most of its electrical energy would be converted into light energy, so it can have a large wattage and illuminance (18k or 100k). However, tungsten lamp gives out the light by solid, 70% energy is converted into heat, and so it does not have large wattage.
3. Tungsten lamp is the best lights for color rendering at present, because its principle is the closest to the sun glowing.
4. Dysprosium lamp manufacturing technology is more complex, more expensive. Tungsten lamp is cheap.
