Ternary Composite Tungsten Electrode
Ternary Composite Tungsten Electrode
Ternary composite tungsten electrode, containing 1% and 4% thorium of thorium wolfram electrode and 2% yttriumof yttrium wolfram electrode. It can also be made by mixing different rare earth element. These three elements can make welding performance of composite electrode is better than the other electrodes. RE (Rare Earth) electrode also includes tungsten electrode, binary rare earth tungsten electrodes. Ternary composite tungsten electrode has high melting point and a low work function, and gradually widely used in welding, cutting, thermal spraying and the field of electric vacuum. Invention of ternary composite tungsten electrode is to balance mobility and the evaporation rate of the internal electronics, so that the tungsten electrode performance can be maximized. It is easy to arc for ternary composite tungsten electrode, and its life time would be longer. Japanese technology research shows that, ternary composite tungsten electrode is very successful, and in particular it has excellent welding performance.
Ternary Composite Tungsten Electrode and Thoriated Tungsten Electrode
Ternary composite tungsten electrode has low work function, so electrons are easily escape from the surface, welding performance is better than the same specifications thoriated tungsten electrode. In the same welding current, carrying voltage of ternary tungsten elecroded is significantly lower than thoriated tungsten electrode, which means that arc stability of ternary composite tungsten electrode is better than thorium tungsten electrode.
