Yttrium Tungsten Electrode
Introduction
Yttrium tungsten electrode consists of tungsten and yttrium, the content of yttria is mainly about 2%, the trademark is WY20. The electrode tip is blue. The difference from other tungsten electrodes is that this kind of electrode has yttrium.
Trademark
Yttria content of yttrium tungsten electrode is 1.80-2.20%, so it is classified into the WY20 .
Code | Impurity | Impurity Content% | Other Impurity% | Discharge Power | Color |
WY20 | Y2O3 | 1.8- 2.2 | < 0.20 | 2.0 - 3.9 | Blue |
Charateristics
Yttrium tungsten electrode is added yttrium oxide. This type of tungsten electrode has a high compressive strength, and has a high permeability at high current welding conditions. In addition, WY20 yttrium tungsten electrode has a slim arc beam, the larger the degree of compression, making it the largest penetration in the large current.
Application
Because of the excellent properties of yttrium tungsten electrode, this type of electrode is mainly applied in military industry and aerospace industry.
Content
Yttrium tungsten electrodes contains about 2% yttrium oxide. It is a white or light brown powder, soluble in dilute acid, almost insoluble in water. It can be used as additive for the preparation of gas chimney, colour TV phosphor powder and magnetic material. In the storage of yttrium, it should be taken to avoid contact with the air, because that this type of material is easy to absorb carbon dioxide in air and water, and then deteriorate.
