Tungsten Needle Classification
Tungsten needle classification is based on material, structure, and application characteristics. CTIA tungsten needle is a slender functional component made from tungsten (W) or tungsten-based alloys through precision processing. With a high melting point of 3422°C, density of 19.25 g/cm³, low resistivity of 5.6×10⁻⁸ Ω·m, and elastic modulus of about 400 GPa, tungsten needle exhibits excellent high-temperature strength, creep resistance, electrical conductivity, and dimensional stability, and is widely used in semiconductor testing, electron microscopy probes, micro and nano fabrication, biomedical applications, precision welding, and scientific instruments.
From engineering and material science perspectives, tungsten needle can be classified into five systems: material composition, structural shape, application, size and tip characteristics, and performance grade. Each classification reflects different performance focuses and application scenarios.
