Tungsten Plate National Standard
Tungsten Sheet
GB/T 3875-2017

Overview of Tungsten Plate Standard (GB/T 3875-2017)
Standard Number: GB/T 3875-2017
Standard Name: Tungsten Sheet (Tungsten Plate)
Implementation Date: June 1, 2018
Issued by: General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China; Standardization Administration of China
Responsible Committee: National Technical Committee for Standardization of Nonferrous Metals
This standard is a recommended national standard of the People’s Republic of China, specifying classification, technical requirements, testing methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, and quality certificates for tungsten plate products.
This summary is compiled by CTIA GROUP based on publicly available information. For full content, please refer to official sources.
1. Scope
This standard applies to the production and inspection of hot-rolled and machined tungsten plates.
It defines the technical specifications that tungsten plates must meet during production, inspection, and delivery.
2. Normative References
The standard refers to relevant national and industry standards as the basis for testing and inspection. These include fundamental standards for chemical analysis, density measurement, and other procedures.
3. Product Classification and Condition
3.1 Classification by Supply Condition
Tungsten plates are classified by manufacturing and processing state as follows:
a) Hot-rolled b) Stress-relieved c) Machined3.2 Product Specification Range
Tungsten plates can be supplied in various thicknesses, widths, and lengths, with all dimensions conforming to the allowable tolerances defined in the standard.
The standard provides detailed dimensional requirements for tungsten plates in different states to guide production and quality inspection.
4. Technical Requirements
4.1 Chemical Composition
Tungsten plates should be primarily high-purity tungsten, with impurity elements controlled within specified limits. Key elements include C (carbon), O (oxygen), Fe (iron), and Si (silicon), ensuring stable and reliable material performance.
4.2 Dimensions and Allowable Tolerances
Thickness, width, and length must meet order specifications and comply with the standard’s dimensional tolerances to ensure proper fit and assembly.
4.3 Surface Quality
The surface should be flat, free of cracks, delamination, or significant defects. Minor machining marks are allowed but must not affect performance.
5. Test Methods and Inspection Rules
The standard specifies testing methods for chemical composition analysis, dimensional measurement, and surface inspection.
Sampling, batch inspection, and judgment criteria are clearly defined. Non-conforming items may be re-tested according to the standard’s verification procedures.
6. Marking, Packaging, Transportation, and Storage
6.1 Marking
Each product should include identification marking with the standard number, specification, batch number, net weight, etc., for traceability and management.
6.2 Packaging
Tungsten plates must be packaged to prevent moisture, shock, and contamination, ensuring product quality during transport and storage.
6.3 Transportation and Storage
During transportation, protect against moisture and mechanical damage. Storage should be in a dry, ventilated environment to prevent dampness or contamination.
7. Quality Certificate and Order Requirements
Each batch of tungsten plates must include a quality certificate containing:
1.Supplier name and address
2.Product name, grade, specifications, and condition
3.Batch number and standard number
4.Inspection items and results
5.Inspection or packaging date
Purchase orders should clearly specify the product name, grade, specifications, condition, allowable dimensional tolerances, quantity, packaging, and applicable standard to ensure consistent delivery.
