Additionally, the low vapor pressure of tungsten in high-vacuum environments minimizes material volatilization, which preserves system vacuum levels and extends the operational life of thermal field components.
While graphite provides high-temperature resistance, it is susceptible to oxidation or reaction with melts at temperatures above 2000°C, leading to potential carbon inclusion. In contrast, tungsten crucible exhibits high creep resistance and dimensional stability, withstanding repeated high-temperature cycles without structural deformation or collapse. Consequently, tungsten crucible is the optimized choice for applications requiring high purity, such as semiconductor silicon melting, rare earth extraction, and nuclear industrial processes, while graphite crucible is typically utilized for general non-ferrous metal casting of gold, silver, and copper.
