Tungsten Electrode in Stage Lights
Tungsten electrode in stage lights refers to the barium tungsten electrode used as a thermionic emission cathode in High-Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps. It is designed to meet the core requirements of high brightness, high-frequency switching, and long service life in film and television lighting, stage performances, and large-scale event lighting. Using high-purity tungsten powder as the substrate material, the barium tungsten electrode is processed via powder metallurgy to create a porous tungsten skeleton with interconnected pore structures. Active barium compounds are then infiltrated into the pores using an impregnation method, forming a stable composite electrode structure after high-temperature decomposition and sintering.

Pure tungsten has a work function of approximately 4.5 eV. The active barium layer on the surface of barium tungsten electrode reduces the work function to 1.6–2.0 eV, significantly improving electron emission efficiency.

Service life can exceed 5 million switching cycles under high-frequency strobe conditions, while luminous efficiency is approximately 15% higher than that of conventional electrodes.

Free from radioactive elements, providing safe and reliable operation without radiation hazards.
