What Are Types of Tungsten Electrodes?
What are types of tungsten electrodes? Tungsten electrode is a key consumable used in Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding, Plasma Arc Welding (PAW), and plasma cutting equipment. Its performance directly affects arc-starting stability, arc concentration, weld quality, and electrode service life. According to different doping elements, CTIA’s tungsten electrode can be classified into pure tungsten electrode, lanthanated tungsten electrode, ceriated tungsten electrode, zirconiated tungsten electrode, thoriated tungsten electrode, yttriated tungsten electrode, and composite tungsten electrode. Different grades provide different electron emission capabilities, current-carrying capacities, and application characteristics. Proper selection is therefore essential for improving welding efficiency and reducing production costs.
